Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end management of technology infrastructure optimisation programmes, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall technology strategy.
- Shape and gain agreement to the scope of programmes; develop and maintain vision, desired outcomes, plans, budgets, resource requirements, timelines, and risk management strategies.
- Drive decision-making processes by providing key insights, performance metrics, and status updates to senior leadership.
- Manage Programme Steering Committees consisting of senior, cross-functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth programme execution and act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders.
- Leverage deep technology infrastructure domain knowledge to guide transformation activities that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and lead Change Management plans and activities to ensure successful implementation of major changes.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by analysing programme outcomes and applying best practices.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in technology programme and project management, ideally in a global financial services organisation.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Cloud Economics & FinOps Programme Lead to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in Sheffield. Our client is seeking an experienced Programme Lead, to manage and oversee critical Technology infrastructure cost transformation initiatives at a global level. The ideal candidate will bring both domain expertise in Technology infrastructure as well as cost management and optimisation experience from within a complex organisation. You will be responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and delivery of large-scale initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Programme Leadership: Lead end-to-end management of Technology infrastructure optimisation programmes, from Programme design and initiation to successful delivery, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall Technology strategy and delivery approach. Shape and gain agreement to scope of Programmes; develop and maintain the vision for programmes, desired outcomes, plans, budgets, resource requirements, timelines, and risk management strategies. Drive decision-making processes by providing key insights, performance metrics, and status updates to senior leadership. - Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, operations, risk, compliance, and business units to ensure smooth programme execution. - Change Management: Develop and lead Change Management plans and activities to ensure that major changes land successfully. Drive continuous improvement efforts by analysing programme outcomes, identifying lessons learned, and applying best practices.
About You
10+ years of experience in Technology programme and project management, ideally with some of this experience in a global financial services organisation. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex Technology infrastructure programmes and large-scale transformation initiatives across Public Cloud and Op-Premise Data Centres. Strong knowledge of FinOps and the practical application of its principles across the whole Technology infrastructure estate. Expertise in methodologies such as Agile and DevOps. Knowledge of Technology Infrastructure cost management tools (e.g. Cloudability, Apptio One). Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams and levels of the organization. Leadership & Interpersonal skills Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience in leading cross-functional and geographically distributed teams. Exceptional communication and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences. High adaptability and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset. The ability to deal with ambiguity and drive clarity.
