Summary: The Informatica / IDMC Developer role is focused on developing and maintaining ETL processes while supporting cloud migration initiatives within a long-term contract framework. The position requires collaboration with both business and technical teams to ensure the delivery of accurate data solutions. The developer will also be responsible for optimizing existing processes and performing data quality checks. This hybrid role requires on-site presence two days a week in Milton Keynes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimise ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses or data marts.
- Support the setup and cloud migration of Informatica IDMC.
- Write efficient SQL queries, including joins and data comparisons across multiple tables.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing ETL processes, ensuring accuracy, performance, and reliability.
- Perform data quality checks and resolve issues across data pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews and recommend improvements.
- Document workflows and processes to ensure clarity and maintainability.
- Apply and share best practices in ETL development and data integration.
- Leverage scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting (advantageous).
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in Informatica development and IDMC cloud migration.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse and ETL concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell) is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Keen to learn and adapt to emerging tools and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools.
