  • Collaboration on development projects and series production readiness

Key Skills:

  • Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, CNC-Operator, technical draughtsman or similar
  • Further training as a technician and/or master craftsman
  • Degree in engineering or industrial engineering is an advantage
  • Professional experience in production of milling products
  • Good knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and BDE systems
  • Good IT and computer skills
  • Experience in CNC programming (focus on turning programming)
  • Knowledge of TopSolid and Exapt (or similar)
  • Experience with CNC controls and post-processors
  • Language skills in German (desired)
  • Experience with acceptance of new machinery and ramp-up of a new production site (desired)
  • Previous work in the defence industry (desired)

About Us WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Rheinmetall Weapons and Ammunition UK (RWM UK) is part of the defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Germany. We design, manufacture and support military large-calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers.

About The Team RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford and we are recruiting for two Industrial Engineers will be will be responsible for the start of production and the ramp up into a 3-shift work pattern in the new Barrel Production & Breech Block Production. Important: In the beginning the ramp-up of the new machinery will be the major target. Therefore a qualification period of several weeks in Germany is planned.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Adjustment of CNC programmes, clamping devices, tools, etc. for the new production machines
  • Working together with supplier to finalize machine acceptance tests and programming of needed post processors
  • Optimisation of manufacturing processes with the aim of improving efficiency and process stability, as well as optimising quality
  • Programming of CNC programmes
  • Selection of tools, clamping devices and auxiliary equipment
  • Design of clamping and auxiliary tools and their procurement
  • Creation and maintenance of SAP master data for work plans, workstations, test and goods receipt inspection plans, technical delivery conditions, manufacturing instructions, etc.
  • Collaboration on development projects and series production readiness

What Qualifications You Should Have

Essential:

  • Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, CNC-Operator, technical draughtsman or similar with relevant professional experience
  • Further training as a technician and/or master craftsman
  • Degree in engineering or industrial engineering is an advantage
