Summary: The IMS Database Administrator will manage and optimize IBM IMS database environments, ensuring their availability, integrity, and performance. The position offers a hybrid or remote working arrangement based in Wilmington, DE or Jersey City, NJ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade IMS database systems in mainframe environments.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies.
  • Perform routine database maintenance, including reorganizations, backups, and recovery processes.
  • Design and implement IMS database structures (DBDs, PSBs, ACBs) to meet application requirements.
  • Develop and maintain database utilities, automation scripts, and monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to ensure optimal database design and performance.
  • Manage database security, user access controls, and compliance with corporate policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IMS-related incidents, performance issues, and failures.
