Summary: The Integrated Management System (IMS) Auditor will be responsible for leading internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements, particularly focusing on nuclear safety. This role involves developing audit programs, coordinating audit teams, and producing detailed reports to enhance the effectiveness of the IMS. The position is critical in maintaining high-quality standards within the Quality Governance Team at Hinkley Point C. The contract duration is until December 31, 2024, with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a risk-based internal management system audit program to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Environmental and Health and Safety functions to incorporate their inputs into the IMS Audit Schedule.
- Coordinate a team of management system auditors, defining audit scopes, criteria, and objectives for each audit.
- Conduct ad-hoc audits to address urgent operational needs.
- Plan audits effectively, engaging stakeholders and auditors.
- Categorise findings accurately and produce detailed audit reports within agreed time-lines.
- Monitor process non-conformance and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Analyse audit results to identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the continual enhancement of the IMS.
- Liaise with IMS Engineers to facilitate review by Certification Body Assessors.
- Foster knowledge-sharing and learning opportunities among auditor resources to enhance project capability.
Key Skills:
- IRCA Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015).
- Experience in multidisciplinary project environments applying ISO standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage.
- Advocate for best practices while remaining open to collaboration.
- Proficient in data analysis, report preparation, and making recommendations.
- Ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Desirable: Large-scale infrastructure project experience, previous work in regulated environments (nuclear), membership in Chartered Quality Institute or IRCA, familiarity with integrated management systems and independent oversight/audit roles.
