Summary: The Interim ICT Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing ICT projects within a police environment, ensuring efficient use of resources and delivery of business benefits. The role requires collaboration with senior executives and stakeholders to maintain project accuracy and alignment with approved architectures. Candidates must have a strong background in ICT project management and be willing to undergo a strict security vetting procedure. A full UK driving license is required, and the position involves hybrid working with regular site attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain allocated projects ensuring technical delivery, resourcing, and vendor management are accurate.
  • Accountable to project executives for deliverables while being line managed by the Technical Programme Management team leader.
  • Collaborate across ICT departments to ensure projects align with approved architectures and are cost-effective.
  • Ensure projects deliver desired outcomes in terms of timescales, costs, quality, and benefits enablement.
  • Manage projects to deliver business elements alongside technical aspects, including new or revised business processes.
  • Work with project board and stakeholders to communicate project deliverables and progress.
  • Manage ICT suppliers to ensure they meet project outcomes effectively.
  • Ensure ICT changes are tested for quality and minimize disruption to business operations.
  • Manage all aspects of project planning, risks, issues, and inter-dependencies.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and training are produced for business users and ICT Service Delivery teams.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in ICT Project Management with a recognized approach such as PRINCE 2.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring techniques for cost-effectiveness.
  • Expertise in Project Risk Management.
  • Understanding of IT Architecture, Networks, Cloud Technologies, and Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Project Planning and Control Techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering projects in complex organizations.
  • Experience with ICT components related to office moves, building re-stacks, and fit-outs.

Salary (Rate): £371.74
