The Role
An experienced IAM Security Engineer is required for an initial 6-month contract supporting a major financial services organisation. The role will focus on designing, implementing and improving identity and access management controls across public cloud environments, working closely with cloud, security, infrastructure and application teams to support secure cloud adoption at scale.
- Work with cross-functional cloud, security, infrastructure, service engineering and application teams to define and implement IAM roles, permissions and access policies.
- Design, build and enhance security controls and tooling to ensure IAM deployments across public cloud environments meet internal standards and security best practice.
- Create automation, reusable libraries and self-service capabilities that enable development teams to provision IAM identities and permissions securely.
- Deliver IAM solutions through CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, validation and deployment.
Key Experience
- At least 3 years' hands-on experience working with cloud-native services in AWS or GCP.
- Strong background designing and implementing enterprise security solutions within financial services, or another large, complex and highly regulated environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across both technical and business teams.
- Proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of project deliverables.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Security - Specialty or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer would be advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Programming experience in Python, Go or Java.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Behave, pytest or JUnit.
- Ability to develop and secure SOAP and REST-based web service APIs.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, Agile delivery, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
