Summary: The HR Project Manager will lead and manage key people-focused projects and strategic HR initiatives within a leading global law firm in Birmingham. This role involves collaboration with HR business partners and directors during a significant transformation period. The position is fixed-term until 2027 and requires a hybrid working arrangement with three days on-site. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing HR or legal projects, particularly in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver concurrent HR projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards and timely outcomes
  • Act as a main point of contact for internal HR stakeholders (Business Partnering, Talent, Reward teams) and external vendors
  • Develop and execute effective project communication plans and status updates
  • Support, organise and participate in high-profile meetings with senior HR and firm leadership, including managing actions and data
  • Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and report on project progress
  • Continually seek opportunities to enhance processes, governance, and automation
  • Serve as an escalation point for project-related queries, resolving issues and keeping stakeholders informed

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience managing HR or legal projects, preferably within a law firm or large professional services environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a track record in delivering high-impact projects
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels

About the Role: You will drive key people-focused projects and cyclical events (such as promotions, pay and partner reviews), as well as delivering wider strategic HR initiatives across the firm.
