Summary: The HR Advisor role in Cambridgeshire involves providing high-quality HR support within a business partnering model, focusing on employee relations and compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of HR and employment matters
- Support managers in handling disciplinary, grievance, performance, ill health, and redundancy cases
- Coach and develop managers to enhance people management capability
- Support change management initiatives including restructures and TUPE transfers
- Analyse HR data to identify trends and support decision-making
- Maintain accurate HR systems and records
- Contribute to HR projects and organisational initiatives
- Support HR policy development and deliver training to managers and staff
- Advise on job design and participate in job evaluation processes
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across all activities
- Liaise with trade unions to maintain positive employee relations
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and safeguarding requirements
Key Skills:
- Proven HR experience in a generalist or advisory role
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting managers with complex employee relations cases
- Experience of organisational change and restructuring
- Ability to analyse and interpret HR data
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence, challenge, and support decision-making
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Experience working for Councils
- A Level (or equivalent) – Essential
- Degree (or equivalent) – Desirable
