Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire HR function – from strategy to shop floor

  • Build and sustain positive union partnerships – lead negotiations, consultations, and resolutions
  • Drive recruitment, talent, L&D, and leadership development
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement and employee wellbeing
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies
  • Use HR data and insights to support smarter decision-making

Key Skills:

  • Proven HR leadership in manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Strong union experience, including collective bargaining and employment law
  • Commercially savvy and confident influencing at all levels
  • Resilient, solutions-focused, and people-first in approach
  • CIPD Level 5+ (Level 7 preferred)
  • Comfortable with HRIS and data-led people strategies

Are you a seasoned HR leader with a passion for people, performance, and positive change? We are confidentially seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function at a key UK manufacturing site (200–400 employees). This is the No.1 HR position , reporting directly to the site leadership team and playing a critical role in driving both operational HR excellence and cultural transformation.

The Opportunity: This is more than just a BAU role. It's about modernising people practices, building strong union relationships, and shaping the workforce of the future. You’ll be the go-to expert for leadership, bringing expertise in employee engagement, workforce planning, and organisational change – all in a complex, unionised environment.
