Summary: The role is for an HR Generalist within a Global Waste, Recycling & Energy business, focusing on a range of HR functions including project management, TUPE processes, and employee relations. This position is initially a 6-month contract with the potential for extension or permanent placement. The HR Business Partner will provide strategic support to leaders, ensuring effective workforce planning and organizational design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR within a large corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project work on wider ER/HR projects and ER strategy.
- Work flexibly across the region supporting colleagues on projects and work activity.
- Proactively manage and support the company in relation to organizational design and changes.
- Support elements of TUPE and Mergers and Acquisitions, ensuring compliance.
- Deliver strategic workforce planning activities to maximize capability and resource.
- Ensure full succession planning and support development of high-performance individuals.
- Support objective and PDP setting processes, ensuring effective management of outputs.
- Develop line managers' capacity to handle Employee Relations problems locally.
- Coach managers in executing HR policies and procedures effectively.
Key Skills:
- Degree qualified in Human Resources or related field.
- Experience in large corporate business environments.
- Knowledge of restructures and TUPE processes.
- Demonstrated experience in day-to-day HR and Employee Relations tasks.
- Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.

Looking for a HR generalist for a Global Waste, Recycling & Energy business, turnover £3billion in the UK for a 6 month contract - likely to go permanent or extend contract. Your tasks will be varied, you will need to be able to manage project work, such as restructures, TUPE process, Complex case work as well as the day to day Human Resources (HR) and Employee Relations (ER) business as usual. You’ll have rounded HR experience working for a large corporate.
The HR Business Partner (generalist role) will work across the Industrial Water Solutions business unit providing guidance and support to leaders on all people related matters, ensuring the business has robust plans in place to have the right people, in the right place, at the right time, and to achieve the yearly strategic plan and goals. The business partner will build key relationships and undertake core activities to ensure our People objectives are met, including project work, TUPE, organisation design and complex ER cases, with minimal risk to the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support project work as and when directed on wider ER/ HR projects and ER strategy
- Work flexibly across the region as required supporting colleagues on projects and work activity.
- Proactively manage and support the company in relation to all organisational design and changes
- Support elements of TUPE and Mergers and Acquisitions. Ensuring all relevant processes are followed and compliance is met.
- Deliver the full range of strategic workforce planning activities. Maximising the capability and resource whilst identifying areas for increased engagement and efficiencies. Driving behavioural and cultural change as appropriate.
- To ensure full succession planning is undertaken, capturing high performance and high potential individuals across all levels in the business and ensuring active plans are in place to support their development. Identify any skills gaps and in collaboration with People Development and Recruitment, support informed strategies.
- Supporting the objective and PDP setting process, reviewing throughout the year to ensure it is completed as effectively as possible and all outputs are appropriately managed.
- Develop the capacity of line managers to manage a range of Employee Relations (ER) problems locally, developing management styles to foster positive working relationships with employees, minimising the occurrence of line management problems and issues and fostering a positive climate for ER activity.
- Coach and develop managers to be competent and consistent in their execution of Veolia’s Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures encouraging problems to be dealt with informally and as soon as possible, rather than allowing situations to escalate.
Looking for
Degree qualified Human Resources generalist with large corporate business exposure with experience of either restructures and or TUPE process, alongside demonstrated experience of the day to day Human Resources (HR) and Employee Relations (ER) business as usual task.
