About Us

At Signature Associates, we believe people are at the heart of every great business.

We're a specialist HR and People consultancy, working with ambitious organisations across the UK to deliver practical, human-led people solutions that drive commercial success.

We keep growing, and we're looking for an HR Consultant to join our internal team on a 3-month fixed-term contract.

For the right person, there's a real chance to move into a permanent position.

You'll work closely with 10 experienced HR professionals and report directly to our CEO, in a supportive environment with plenty of learning and knowledge sharing.

The Role

This is a varied, fast-paced, client-facing role supporting businesses across many industries.

You'll be a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through complex people matters, embedding best practice and helping them create great employee experiences.

You'll need to get up to speed quickly and make an impact from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Advising clients on the full range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, grievances, disciplinaries, redundancy, TUPE and absence management
  • Giving expert guidance on UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Drafting and reviewing HR documents (contracts, handbooks, policies and templates) tailored to each client
  • Supporting HR projects such as restructures, engagement initiatives, salary benchmarking, training delivery and culture development
  • Coaching managers to build their capability and confidence
  • Building trusted client relationships as an extension of their internal team
  • Working day to day with our internal team of 10, sharing ideas and solving problems together
  • Reporting directly to the CEO, with regular check-ins and feedback

What We're Looking For

  • At least 4–5 years' experience in an HR Consultant, HR advisory or agency role
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to apply it to real-world situations
  • Proven experience managing complex, high-risk ER cases, including redundancies, dismissals and long-term absence
  • ER case management experience across a range of industries (advantageous)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk and give commercially sound advice
  • Excellent attention to detail when handling sensitive case information
  • Ability to hit the ground running, work independently and manage several cases and deadlines at once
  • Strong mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with SME or multi-site businesses (beneficial)
  • A flexible, adaptable approach suited to a growing business
  • Happy to travel to London and the South East for team or client meetings
  • Available to start at short notice (preferred)

Why Join Us?

  • A 3-month contract with a real opportunity to become permanent
  • A talented, friendly team of HR Consultants
  • Exposure to a wide range of clients, industries and projects
  • Direct access to senior leadership, with regular coaching and support
  • A culture built on collaboration, flexibility and shared success
  • A route to Senior HR Consultant roles for permanent team members
  • Perks and Benefits
  • £48,000 per annum (pro rata) plus commission
  • Flexible hybrid working, mixing remote work with some in-person collaboration
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata for the contract period)
  • Health cash plan and wellbeing benefits, including discounts and special offers
  • A varied, dynamic workload where no two days or clients are the same
  • Involvement in interesting HR projects that build your expertise
