Summary: The HR Business Partner role is a Director-level position on a 12-month fixed-term contract, requiring immediate availability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Propose forward-thinking HR initiatives to achieve strategic goals and drive a high-performance culture.
  • Deliver HR solutions supporting DE&I, talent, learning and development, engagement, culture, and performance management.
  • Manage and advise on employee relations matters including disciplinary, dismissal, restructuring, and workforce planning.
  • Support year-end compensation, annual review, and promotion processes ensuring fair decisions in line with guidelines.
  • Manage data sources for accurate reporting.
  • Guide business managers through change management and transformation initiatives.
  • Support talent acquisition plans aligned with DE&I commitments.
  • Contribute to performance management cycles and talent reviews.
  • Influence line managers and leadership teams regarding HR priorities.
  • Maintain knowledge of the legal framework within which HR operates.
  • Be an active member of the EMEA HR department, fostering a positive working environment.
  • Line management responsibility for one direct report.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in financial services, ideally banking or investment banking.
  • Track record of supporting front office client groups.
  • Prior experience in a centre of excellence.
  • Exposure to supporting TOM changes and consultation processes.
  • M&A experience is advantageous.
  • Previous EMEA/International experience is ideal.
  • Data literacy across Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in running annual cyclical processes.

Detailed Description From Employer:

HR Business Partner- Director level 12-month fixed term contract 3 days a week in office/ London £110,000- £115,000 plus package Must be immediately available Middlemore have partnered with a prestigious, global financial services firm for the hire of a HR Business Partner based in London on a 12-month FTC. Reporting into the Head of HR Business Partners, this role will predominantly focus on HR Business partnering their core front office client group or Corporate functions, where you will help guide, influence and support with change and transformation heavy on the agenda. In the capacity of the HR Business Partner, you will build strong relationships across the UK and Europe with a specific focus on supporting C-level stakeholders across their centre of excellence. Relating to HR project exposure, you should expect to get involved in all things TUPE, Change Management, and TOM/Organisational design. This is a very strategic yet hands on role and will be expected to cover core operations that come under BAU.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Propose forward thinking and progressive HR initiatives, to enable the company to achieve its strategic goals and drive a high-performance culture.
  • Deliver HR solutions to support the company’s aspirations around DE&I, Talent, learning and development, engagement, culture, people, and performance management.
  • Manage and advise clients on all ER matters including, disciplinary, dismissal, restructuring, workforce planning including TUPE and redundancy.
  • Support the year-end compensation, annual review and promotion process ensuring meritocratic, consistent, and fair decisions are made in line with regulatory guidelines and internal frameworks.
  • Management of a variety of data sources to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Guide business managers through and drive change management and transformation initiatives including restructuring and defining effective TOM for client groups.
  • Support the talent acquisition plans of client groups, ensuring they are aligned with company’s DE&I commitments.
  • Support the performance management cycle, talent review and promotion process and contribute to the development of HiPos in collaboration with specialist colleagues.
  • Influence line managers and leadership teams around the HR agenda/priorities
  • Maintaining a clear understanding and providing up to date knowledge of the legal framework within which HR operates
  • Be an active member of the wider EMEA HR department, helping create a positive working environment and culture.
  • Line management responsibility for one direct report.

The successful HR Business Partner will have experience operating in Financial services, ideally banking or Investment banking and will be able to demonstrate a track record of supporting front office client groups. You will also have prior experience of working in a centre of excellence. To be considered for this role you must be immediately available.

What else will you need:

  • Must have exposure to supporting TOM changes – consultation processes (ER) etc.
  • M&A experience would be advantageous.
  • Previous EMEA/International experience will be ideal for this hire.
  • Data literate across Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Previous experience of running annual cyclical processes.
