Summary: The HR Business Partner role in Desford, LE9, is a fully onsite position within a globally recognized manufacturing organization, offering an initial 12-month contract with potential for extension or permanent placement. The role focuses on providing strategic HR support to operational leaders, influencing people strategy, and managing employee relations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with operational leaders on their people agenda and business objectives
  • Acting as a trusted advisor on HR policy, procedures, and employment legislation
  • Managing employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance
  • Supporting workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development
  • Building strong relationships with Trade Union representatives and key stakeholders
  • Using HR data and insights to identify trends and support decision-making
  • Supporting HR systems, data accuracy, and reporting
  • Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement activity

Key Skills:

  • Experience as a HR Partner, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Advisor
  • Strong employee relations experience (disciplinary & grievance)
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Strong analytical skills with good Excel capability
  • Confident communicating across shop-floor and senior leadership levels
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with ability to work independently
  • CIPD qualification (desirable)
  • Experience with Workday or similar HR systems (desirable)
  • Exposure to Power BI (desirable)
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, FMCG, retail, or logistics (desirable)
