Summary: The HSE Advisor role involves supporting a Biotechnology client during their transition to a new facility, focusing on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance. The position is contract-based for an initial 12 months, with the potential to extend to 2 years. The successful candidate will collaborate with HSE teams to ensure effective implementation of HSE systems and procedures during the relocation process. Qualifications include NEBOSH and IOSH certifications, with a strong emphasis on communication and risk management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and update of local HS&E procedures
- Delivery of local workshops to complement company procedures and policies
- Coordinating/attending meetings representing HS&E systems and compliance across the UK & I remit
- Support and undertake HS&E audits and assessments
- Ensure regulatory licenses are maintained and kept relevant
- Liaison to safety and environmental representatives
- Supporting the risk management system, including facilitating risk assessments and reviewing control measures
- Supporting the environmental management system, including the impacts and aspects register & targets
- Supporting the Vigilance systems such as life-safety systems
Key Skills:
- NEBOSH Certificate minimum; IOSH accreditation at least at affiliate level
- Preferably NEBOSH Diploma and/or Environmental qualification
- Ideally degree or higher
- Experience in an organization that relocated is ideal but not critical
- Self-starter with competence in management systems and risk management approach to HS&E
- Effective decision-making skills on the shop floor
- Strong communication skills, engaging and enthusiastic in promoting HS&E
- Interest in creating a culture of safety and well-being
