Summary: The HSE Advisor role involves overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance for a prestigious LV/EHV contract within the Wessex regions. The position requires monitoring HSE performance, reporting on best practices, and ensuring compliance with UK legislation while engaging with stakeholders. The advisor will also be responsible for investigating incidents and promoting health and safety initiatives on-site. This contract role offers the potential for permanent employment after a minimum duration of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor HSE performance at Regional and Depot level.
  • Report to Operational Management on performance, best practices, and areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of improvement actions and initiatives.
  • Assist in managing the company's environmental responsibilities in compliance with regulations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, sharing lessons learned.
  • Review documentation for health & safety content (RAMS, CPPs, etc.).
  • Visit sites in the South East/East Anglia region, advising on health & safety matters.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety Legislation/CDM Regulations/Client's standards.
  • Promote best practices and deliver toolbox talks on health, safety, and wellbeing themes.
  • Conduct health and wellbeing promotional campaigns.

Key Skills:

  • Passion for the Health & Safety profession.
  • Experience and knowledge of HSE management principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience engaging with stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Experience in developing and improving processes and driving HSE performance.
  • Background in Construction, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or DNO.
  • Willingness to challenge unsatisfactory conditions or breaches.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Teams, Excel, and Databases.
  • Professional approach, self-organised, and motivated to influence stakeholders.
  • Associate/Tech/Grad Member of IOSH and IEMA membership (nice to have).
