  • Utilize PC skills with a good level of spreadsheet knowledge.
  • Influence others effectively.
  • Understand key issues in complex situations.
  • Work to deadlines, prioritize workload, and meet targets.
  • Hold IOSH accreditation (chartered level preferred).
  • Possess NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Qualification.
  • Maintain a valid CSCS card.
  • Have an in-date ECS card.
  • Bring vast experience with electrical packages for power stations, overseeing electrical scope of works.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of CDM and apply it practically when required.
  • Be willing to work night shifts if necessary.

Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with a leading EPC Contractor within the UK Power Industry to recruit a HSE Advisor (Electrically bias) on a 6 months contract basis for its Waste to Energy project based in Chester, Cheshire.

The HSE Advisor position comes with a day rate of £400.00 to £450.00 per day outside of IR35.

Key skills and responsibilities:

  • The ability to establish a rapport with all levels of management and safety representatives if and when required.
  • Able to carry out effective investigations, audits, inspections and compile reports and recommendations as appropriate.
  • Overseeing final installations of the mechanical sub-contractor, to ensure a safe environment.
  • Work closely with the sub-contractors HSE Advisors and Managers through all installations of the mechanical and electrical packages.
  • PC literate with a good level of spreadsheet knowledge.
  • Strong ability to influence others.
  • Ability to understand the key issues in complex situations.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritize workload and meet targets.
  • IOSH accreditation (chartered level preferred).
