Summary: The HR Specialist / HR Business Partner role involves managing day-to-day HR activities at a manufacturing site, focusing on generalist HR functions such as employee relations, performance management, and talent development. The position requires significant onsite presence, with responsibilities including coaching managers, implementing HR processes, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments and a strong background in HR practices. This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations activities at the manufacturing site.
  • Provide operational business partnering coaching and guidance to managers and associates.
  • Coordinate and implement core HR processes including performance management and talent management.
  • Support the Learning and Development team in rolling out learning initiatives.
  • Partner with Talent and Development Manager to create and implement upskilling programs for people managers.
  • Work closely with managers to increase team engagement and launch relevant initiatives.
  • Provide knowledge and best practices in managing local labour relations.
  • Coach managers on complex cases related to performance management and grievances.
  • Guide talent management and succession planning for key roles.
  • Monitor compliance with local HR policies and regulations.

Key Skills:

  • Significant knowledge of HR generalist processes.
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or FMCG environments.
  • Strong experience in upskilling people managers.
  • Experience managing employee relations cases and absence management.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in a unionised environment (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • CIPD qualified or HR related degree.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Resilient and motivated by challenges.

Salary (Rate): £65,000
