Summary: The HR Policy Lead role is a fixed-term contract position based in Cardiff, focused on developing and implementing people-centered HR policies until March 31, 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the employee handbook and ensuring compliance with employment legislation while fostering an inclusive organizational culture. This position requires a proactive HR professional with a strong understanding of employment law and excellent communication skills. An immediate start is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end review and redevelopment of the employee handbook
  • Draft, update, and implement HR policies using a warm, engaging, and practical approach
  • Ensure all policies comply with current employment legislation and anticipate upcoming changes
  • Translate complex legal and procedural information into clear, user-friendly guidance
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure policies are embedded effectively across the organisation
  • Support managers and teams with the practical application of policies within day-to-day processes
  • Manage workload independently to meet agreed timeframes and delivery milestones

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience of writing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to clarity, tone, and accessibility
  • Ability to translate complex legal and procedural information into engaging, user-friendly guidance
  • Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in policy design and application
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a key role in shaping people-focused, legally robust policies within a successful and progressive organisation. The successful candidate will lead the review, development, and implementation of the organisation’s employee handbook and HR policy framework, ensuring policies are practical, accessible, and reflective of organisational culture.
