  • Improving tone, consistency and accessibility across disciplinary, grievance, absence and related ER documentation
  • Working closely with HR stakeholders to understand business needs and apply best practice
  • Creating a clear, cohesive and people-centred policy library that supports managers and employees alike

  • Significant experience in Employee Relations and ER policy writing, ideally in a large, complex or fast-paced organisation
  • The ability to step back, challenge existing approaches and simplify content meaningfully
  • A methodical, highly articulate writing style with exceptional attention to detail

Are you a highly experienced Employee Relations specialist with a talent for turning complex employment law into clear, practical and accessible people policies? Macmillan Davies are delighted to be partnering with a national organisation undergoing significant growth and transformation to recruit an HR Policy & ER Specialist on a 6-month FTC. This is a focused, project-based role for someone who truly understands what good looks like in ER policy writing - and knows how to simplify without losing rigour. This organisation operates at pace with a commercial mindset, while fostering a culture built on trust, autonomy and practical decision-making. They are seeking someone who can step back, understand the business context, and reshape the policy framework so it works for everyone - not just HR.

The role

You will take ownership of reviewing and consolidating the organisation’s existing people policies, ensuring they are fit for purpose for a large and growing workforce.

About you

  • A methodical, highly articulate writing style with exceptional attention to detail

What’s on offer

Salary £60,000 - £80,000 pro rata, depending on experience

Hybrid working, balanced with regular time on site to understand the business and culture. 1-2 days per week in the office.
