The Role
Working closely with the wider HR team, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation's HR policies and procedures are up to date, legally compliant and aligned with forthcoming changes to employment legislation.
You will be responsible for:
- Reviewing the current HR policy framework against upcoming employment law changes
- Identifying areas requiring amendment and recommending appropriate updates
- Drafting and updating HR policies and procedures
- Ensuring policies reflect current and forthcoming UK employment legislation and best practice
- Supporting the business with the implementation of policy changes
- Providing advice and guidance to HR colleagues and managers on policy-related matters
- Supporting the communication and rollout of updated policies
- Working with key stakeholders to ensure changes are practical and effectively embedded
- Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline existing HR processes and policies
About You
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has a strong understanding of HR policy and employment legislation.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in an HR Policy, HR Advisory or Employment Law-focused role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Experience reviewing, writing and implementing HR policies
- An understanding of forthcoming employment law changes and their impact on organisations
- Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills
- The ability to translate legislation into clear, practical HR policies
- Confidence working with stakeholders across an organisation
- A proactive and analytical approach
- Ideally, a degree-educated background or equivalent professional experience
This is a 3-month temporary opportunity, based in Birmingham with 3 days per week on site, and would suit someone who enjoys project-based work and can quickly get to grips with an existing policy framework.
