Summary

The HR Manager position is a 6-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £36.24 per hour under an umbrella arrangement.

This role is pivotal in delivering a high-quality, customer-centric HR service, providing both strategic and operational HR guidance to senior leaders, managers, Headteachers, and Governing Bodies.

The HR Manager will oversee complex employee relations, manage organisational change initiatives, lead HR projects, and handle employment tribunal cases.

Additionally, the role involves managing HR staff and ensuring effective people management across the organisation.

As a trusted advisor, the HR Manager will support service enhancement, workforce planning, and organisational development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Offer expert HR advice and guidance to Senior Managers, Assistant Directors, Headteachers, and Governing Bodies.
  • Collaborate with management teams to align HR solutions with business objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of HR projects, policies, and initiatives in line with the organisation's People Strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR services and contribute to broader organisational development.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence management.
  • Provide specialist advice on high-risk and sensitive HR issues.
  • Oversee Employment Tribunal cases and support managers throughout the process.
  • Ensure adherence to employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in managing complex HR casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance management, and organisational change.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with managers, employees, and Trade Unions.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing HR professionals or teams.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in supporting organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Qualifications

  • Fully CIPD Qualified (Level 7) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least two years of post-qualification HR experience in a senior HR role.

Additional Information

Working hours are 35 hours per week.

Candidates must attend the office at least 2 days per week.

Payments are made on a bi-weekly schedule.
