Summary: The Interim HR Manager will provide maternity cover on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Central London, focusing on delivering high-quality HR support and driving impactful people initiatives. This role requires a hands-on HR professional to manage employee relations, HR operations, and performance management while supporting the full employee lifecycle. The position demands a confident individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage both operational and strategic responsibilities. An ASAP start is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, pragmatic HR advice to managers on employee relations matters and employment legislation.
- Support and manage cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Support managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with best practice.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR reporting.
- Support the planning and delivery of the annual performance review cycle.
- Guide managers on objective setting, performance conversations, and performance outcomes.
- Assist with talent reviews and succession planning activities.
- Partner with leaders to identify high-potential talent and development opportunities.
- Identify development needs arising from performance and talent discussions.
- Support the rollout of learning and development initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of HR policies and best practice.
- Support wider HR projects and people initiatives as required.
- Review and improve HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a generalist HR Manager or HR Business Partner role.
- Strong employee relations experience with the ability to manage cases independently.
- Experience delivering core HR cycles, including performance management and talent reviews.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience working within a growing or changing organisation is advantageous.
- Experience with Hibob is desirable.

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day HR operations while coordinating and executing key people processes, including performance management, talent and succession planning, and employee relations. This position would suit a confident HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can quickly build credibility, and is comfortable managing both operational and strategic responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Provide timely, pragmatic HR advice to managers on employee relations matters and employment legislation
- Support and manage cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence

- Escalate complex or high-risk issues where appropriate
- HR Operations
- Support managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding
- Ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with best practice
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR reporting (experience with Hibob is desirable)
- Performance Management
- Support the planning and delivery of the annual performance review cycle
