Summary: The HR Intern role at TSL involves supporting the Human Resources department in a fast-paced construction environment. The intern will assist with documentation, compliance, and workforce coordination while gaining hands-on experience in HR operations. This 12-week paid internship offers the opportunity to shadow the HR Manager and participate in a key project. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and organise HR documents related to employment files and other HR-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, such as GDPR, and uphold ethical data management.
  • Assist in identifying gaps in current HR processes and documentation.
  • Shadow the HR Manager to gain insight into HR processes, policies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Observe and learn about employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Workday Administrator to understand the implementation of the new HRIS system.
  • Participate in HR team meetings and contribute ideas where appropriate.

About the Internship

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our UK HR team at Chalfont Park House for a 12 week paid internship. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations while shadowing the HR Manager to understand strategic HR activities. As an HR Intern, you will work 40 hours per week, 8 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday. You will be involved in one key project and shadow the HR Manager, gaining valuable experience and insights into HR operations. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world HR challenges and develop your skills in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

During this internship, you will be involved in the following:

  • PROJECT: Document gathering and filling for HR (80%)
  • Collect and organise HR documents related to employment files and other HR-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, such as GDPR, and uphold our commitment to ethical data management.
  • Assist in identifying gaps in current HR processes and documentation.
  • HR Generalist: Exposure & Development (Approx. 20%)
  • Shadow the HR Manager to gain insight into HR processes, policies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Observe and learn about employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Workday Administrator to understand the implementation of our new HRIS system.
  • Participate in HR team meetings and contribute ideas where appropriate.
