This is a highly visible, hands-on generalist role working closely with senior leaders and line managers across the organisation. The successful candidate will take a key role in delivering complex people activity, with an immediate focus on TUPE transfers, redundancy and consultation processes, complex employee relations and organisational change.
Alongside this, you will provide comprehensive generalist HR support across the employee lifecycle, combining sound employment law knowledge with a pragmatic and commercially focused approach.
Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and coordinate TUPE communications, employee consultation materials, FAQs and supporting documentation, ensuring activity is delivered accurately and in line with legislative requirements.
- Lead and support redundancy and organisational change programmes, including consultation processes, employee communications and associated documentation.
- Manage a range of complex Employee Relations cases, providing confident, commercially pragmatic advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and other employee matters.
- Coach and advise managers on employment law, ER risk and people management issues, ensuring consistent and appropriate decision-making.
- Provide end-to-end generalist HR support across the employee lifecycle, balancing day-to-day operational requirements with wider organisational priorities.
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders, providing credible HR advice and supporting wider business transformation and change initiatives.
- Manage sickness absence and longer-term health cases, including Occupational Health referrals and appropriate follow-up.
- Support recruitment activity and ensure effective use of the organisation’s Applicant Tracking System.
- Contribute to the ongoing HR audit, identifying areas of risk and supporting the development and implementation of robust HR policies, processes and compliance frameworks.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and credible HR professional who can quickly establish themselves within the organisation and operate effectively in a fast-moving, changing environment.
You will bring:
- Significant experience operating as a Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner or equivalent, with responsibility for a broad HR remit.
- Strong, practical TUPE experience, with first-hand involvement in employee transfers and consultation processes.
- Demonstrable experience of redundancy, restructuring and organisational change, including managing employee consultation.
- Strong Employee Relations expertise, with the confidence to independently manage complex and sensitive cases and advise managers on risk.
- A strong working knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to translate this into pragmatic, commercially appropriate advice.
- Broad generalist experience spanning the employee lifecycle, including performance, absence, recruitment, engagement, policies and HR operations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to coach, challenge and influence managers and senior stakeholders.
- Experience of payroll administration and working with external providers.
- Strong analytical capability and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including Pivot Tables.
- Experience working with HRIS and recruitment/ATS platforms.
- A pragmatic, resilient and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver effectively through ambiguity.
This would suit an experienced HR professional who is comfortable being both strategic and hands-on and can bring immediate expertise in TUPE, Employee Relations and organisational change.
If you have a strong generalist HR background combined with substantial TUPE and ER experience and are looking for an opportunity to make an immediate impact during a significant period of transformation, we would be keen to hear from you.
