Summary: The HR Business Partner role involves collaborating with senior leadership teams in Southampton to provide strategic HR guidance on complex people-management issues. The position requires proactive engagement in employee relations, talent management, policy development, performance management, and change management. This role is offered on an initial 3-month basis with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the HRBP role and explore longer-term possibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on complex employee relations issues.
  • Develop and implement recruitment, retention, and development strategies.
  • Create and enforce HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Support managers in performance appraisals and employee development plans.
  • Lead HR initiatives related to organisational change, ensuring smooth transitions.

Key Skills:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a Senior HR advisory or HR Business Partner role within complex large-scale unionised environments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • In-depth understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
