Summary: The HR Business Partner role involves managing employee relations, recruitment, training, performance management, compliance, and HR administration within a fast-paced environment, particularly in the transport sector. This position is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension, requiring immediate availability for a start date in late December or early January. The ideal candidate should be CIPD qualified and experienced in similar roles. The position is based on-site in Astley, Greater Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, offering guidance on disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management matters.
- Oversee/lead the recruitment process, including job advertising, competency based interviewing, IT setup, and deliver onboarding and induction programmes.
- Identify training needs and work with Managers to develop and deliver relevant training initiatives, particularly for management and staff.
- Manage performance reviews, appraisals, and the development of personal improvement plans. Work with Managers to address any underperformance issues, develop training and development plans, issue letters and warnings, and provide appropriate support.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law, health and safety regulations, and company policies, with a focus on transportation regulations, working hours, and driver-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records for all employees, including contracts, job descriptions, right to work, driving licences etc.
Key Skills:
- CIPD qualified.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in the transport sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Experience in performance management and training development.

This role will interview on the 22nd and 23rd of December to start on the 29th of December or the 5th of January. Candidates MUST be available to start on these dates. The role is onsite and is based in Astley.
