People Business Partner (6-Month FTC)

A leading international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced and commercially focused People Business Partner to support senior leaders across key corporate functions on a 6-month fixed-term basis.
This is a high-impact role operating within a fast-paced, regulated environment, partnering closely with leadership teams across Operations and Finance. You will act as a trusted advisor on a broad range of people matters, helping to drive organisational performance, strengthen leadership capability and support the delivery of business objectives.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach, bringing strong employee relations expertise and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver people strategies aligned to business objectives and commercial priorities.
- Provide expert advice on organisational design, workforce planning, succession planning and talent management.
- Lead on complex employee relations matters including performance management, grievances, investigations, conduct issues, restructures and exits.
- Support annual reward and compensation processes, including salary reviews, bonus planning and benchmarking activities.
- Coach and develop managers on leadership capability, people management and team effectiveness.
- Analyse workforce and engagement data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, providing insight-led recommendations.
- Collaborate with specialist HR teams including Talent Acquisition, Reward and Learning & Development to deliver integrated people solutions.
- Support organisational change and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure people practices align with employment legislation, governance requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to broader HR projects focused on employee experience, engagement and continuous improvement.
About You
You will be an experienced HR Business Partner with a strong track record of supporting senior stakeholders within a regulated environment.
Essential Experience
- Significant HR Business Partnering experience within financial services, insurance, banking or another regulated industry.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders across Operations, Finance and/or Technology functions.
- Strong employee relations expertise and confidence managing complex cases independently.
- Experience working within FCA and/or PRA regulated environments.
- Knowledge of SM&CR and associated people processes.
- Demonstrable experience supporting organisational change, restructures and workforce planning initiatives.
- Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement.
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders effectively.
- Strong analytical capability with experience using people data and workforce metrics to inform decision-making.
- Resilient, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within financial services
- Exposure to international or matrix organisational structures.
