HR Business Partner **

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to work within a Local authority located in the Bristol area.

Contract - 8 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Working Hours - Full time positions (37 hours per week)

Location - Bristol, BS1. (Hybrid working)

Rate of Pay - 36 per hour. (negotiable on experience)

Main Duties:

  • To work in partnership with leaders and key stakeholders to shape, develop and deliver HR strategies to achieve organisational objectives.
  • You will initially lead HR support to our Housing directorate as well as contributing to wider council culture change.
  • Provide professional and insightful HR advice and guidance to the organisation's senior leaders, driving HR excellence and fostering a culture of inclusivity and continuous performance improvement.

Key Purpose:

  • Act as trusted advisor to directorate senior leadership team and key stakeholders, developing HR strategies and providing professional HR guidance through a client-facing, diagnostic, coaching and facilitative approach.
  • Lead and develop an effective relationship with staff-led groups and trade unions, and in relation to trade unions playing a key role in consultation and negotiation.
  • Develop and utilise an in-depth knowledge of the designated directorate and organisation, its strategic objectives, and the impact of external and internal factors, to create evidence-based insight to shape business strategy.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the HR Consultancy Team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Provide professional expertise to leaders and managers on particularly complex/sensitive employee relations issues, promoting best practice in people management.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Possession of Chartered MCIPD status or equivalent qualifications.
  • Extensive senior-level experience in HR and Organisational Development within a heavily unionised setting, including significant expertise in consulting and negotiating modifications to employment terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with both the Green and Red Books is required.
  • A comprehensive understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), along with a proven history of promoting inclusivity within organisations.
