Detailed Description From Employer:

A well-established organisation is looking to appoint an experienced HR Business Partner to support a major organisational change programme in Birmingham on a 9-12-month fixed-term basis.

This role will be central to delivering a TUPE transfer as part of a wider business separation and the creation of a new standalone operation. It's a hands-on role where you will be closely involved in both the planning and real-time delivery of the transfer.

The position would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, is comfortable dealing with complexity, and brings strong TUPE and employee relations experience.

What the role will involve

  • Supporting the full TUPE process from planning through to completion, ensuring everything is handled correctly and in line with UK legislation
  • Working closely with legal teams and internal stakeholders to manage risk and ensure compliance
  • Getting involved in the detail - including data gathering, reviewing employee information, and preparing for transfer
  • Supporting and delivering employee consultation processes, both collective and individual
  • Helping shape and deliver clear, consistent communications to employees during the transition
  • Being visible on-site, working directly with managers and employees to support them through change

Alongside the TUPE work, the role will also involve:

  • Advising managers on employee relations matters, particularly those arising from organisational change
  • Handling complex ER cases in a fair, pragmatic, and commercially sound way
  • Creating and maintaining practical documentation such as communications, scripts, and guidance materials
  • Working closely with HR colleagues and wider project teams to keep everything aligned and on track

What we are looking for

  • Strong, hands-on experience of TUPE transfers (essential), ideally from both sides
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law, especially in relation to organisational change
  • Experience working on large-scale change, transformation or separation projects
  • Confidence leading or supporting consultation processes
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach - someone who can turn legal detail into clear, usable advice
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Well organised, able to manage multiple priorities and keep momentum in a busy environment
  • Comfortable travelling regularly to UK sites and being present during key moments
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be an advantage. Experience with HR systems such as Workday would be helpful, but isn't essential.

What's on offer

  • A competitive salary and benefits package
  • Good annual leave allowance plus bank holidays
  • Private medical cover and wellbeing support
  • Pension scheme
  • Access to employee reward and recognition programmes
  • Additional lifestyle and family-focused benefits

This is a great opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile business change programme, making a real difference to how employees experience a significant transition.
