Summary: The HR Business Partner role is a hands-on generalist position within the education sector, focusing on both operational and project-based HR functions. The successful candidate will partner with organizational leaders to manage employee relations, support HR initiatives, and provide strategic guidance. This fixed-term contract offers a hybrid working arrangement and the potential for extension or permanence. The role is based in Reading, on the outskirts of the city.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied employee relations caseload including restructures, redundancies, and union engagement
  • Providing HR support on TUPE processes, including due diligence, consultation, and post-transfer support
  • Supporting the implementation of key HR projects including an upcoming HRIS roll-out and job family frameworks
  • Advising and coaching managers on performance, absence management and disciplinary matters
  • Leading recruitment and onboarding processes for new starters
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies in line with current legislation and best practice
  • Delivering training and development initiatives to upskill managers and staff
  • Providing data-led insights to inform people decisions and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Ensuring data compliance and accurate use of the HRIS
  • Supporting senior leadership at the prep school with complex HR issues

Key Skills:

  • Experienced HR generalist with a strong background in employee relations and TUPE
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (Level 7 or equivalent experience highly desirable)
  • Previous experience in an educational setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously

Salary (Rate): 55000
