Morson Edge is pleased to be supporting our client in finding an experienced HR Business Partner to provide a proactive, commercially focused HR service across multiple business areas within a complex, unionised industrial environment.
This role partners closely with senior leaders to deliver people strategies, support organisational change, and provide expert advice across the full employee lifecycle.
Please note, this is a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract and is site based Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and become a trusted HR Business Partner across assigned business areas.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and performance issues.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation and best practice.
- Support managers in resolving people matters effectively while coaching them to build capability and confidence.
- Develop and implement people plans aligned to business objectives and organisational strategy.
- Lead or support organisational change initiatives including restructures, TUPE transfers, organisational design and workforce planning.
- Partner with leaders to drive employee engagement, performance management, succession planning and talent development.
- Support end-to-end recruitment activities and workforce planning to ensure the business has the capability required for current and future needs.
- Analyse HR data and people metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making and drive improvements in areas such as absence, performance and headcount.
- Lead absence management processes and support initiatives that improve attendance and employee wellbeing.
- Monitor changes in employment legislation and ensure policies and practices remain compliant.
- Contribute to HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives and the digitalisation of HR processes.
- Support audit requirements, compliance activities and reporting where required.
- Champion organisational values while promoting a positive, high-performance and safety-focused culture.
Person Specification
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent practical HR experience).
- Significant experience in a generalist HR Business Partner role.
- Experience working within a unionised environment.
- Strong employee relations experience, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing stakeholders at management and executive level.
- Experience supporting organisational change, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to align HR solutions to business objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using HR metrics to drive business decisions.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident in challenging and influencing senior stakeholders constructively.
