Summary: The HR Business Partner role at Hoare Lea is a one-year fixed-term contract focused on providing strategic HR support within the People & Development team. The position involves acting as a trusted advisor to senior management, contributing to the People Strategy, and overseeing HR operations while ensuring compliance with employment law. The role is based in either Birmingham or Manchester and offers a hybrid working arrangement. Candidates should possess prior HR advisory experience and a strong understanding of UK HR legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted HR advisor to Directors and senior managers, providing guidance on workforce planning and employee relations.
- Support the delivery of the People Strategy, aligning HR initiatives with business needs.
- Oversee annual HR cycles, including pay reviews and performance management.
- Provide expert advice on employee relations matters and mitigate HR risks.
- Lead HR projects related to talent management and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor the HR Consultant/Manager to ensure high-quality HR operations.
- Utilize people analytics to inform strategic discussions and improve HR effectiveness.
- Support succession planning and leadership development in partnership with senior leadership.
- Collaborate with other central functions to integrate HR initiatives into broader business strategies.
- Facilitate an effective employee relations culture by coaching Directors and Line Managers.
Key Skills:
- Previous HR advisory and/or HR business partnering experience.
- Degree qualified and CIPD qualified or actively working towards CIPD qualification.
- Solid understanding of current UK legislation and its application to HR policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to work competently with people at all levels.
- Effective time management and strong organizational skills.
- High level of computer literacy, including MS Office suite.
- Tact and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and navigate complex HR challenges.
