Summary: The HR Assistant role involves providing essential support to the Human Resources department of a leading Transport & Distribution organization on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Stafford. The position requires assisting with daily HR operations, recruitment processes, and maintaining employee records while ensuring smooth departmental functioning. The ideal candidate will contribute to various HR initiatives and support onboarding and employee queries. This role is pivotal in fostering a collaborative and efficient HR environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR department
  • Support the recruitment process by posting ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
  • Help maintain employee records for new hires, status changes, and terminations
  • Provide general administrative support such as preparing reports and keeping track of schedules
  • Assist in the organisation and execution of company events and meetings
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires
  • Handle queries from employees regarding HR-related matters
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

Key Skills:

  • A qualification in Human Resources or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software (HRIS or HRMS)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discretely
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
