HR Apprentice

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Apprentice to join our HR Services team , based in A&O Shearman's Belfast office.

The Apprenticeship

This is an exciting opportunity with the chance to build relationships and gain first-hand experience of what Global HR Services is like in a law firm setting. You will be working as part of the Early Careers Recruitment & HR team, supporting the recruitment and development of our trainee solicitors and solicitor apprentices across various international offices. You'll support the team with recruiting trainee solicitors and apprentices, acting as a key point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process, from assessment stage right through to offer. The team also provide day-to-day HR support to the trainees and apprentices once they've joined the firm. Your role will be varied and key responsibilities will include recruitment, organising events and the provision of HR support. The firm in partnership with University of Ulster is committed to investing in training to enable you to gain a BSc (Hons) Business Management degree. The apprenticeship is offered as a 3.5 year fixed term contract.

Who we are looking for

We are keen to speak to candidates with an interest in working in professional services and meet the following requirements:

• Previous experience is not required but applicants should be team players with good communication skills and strong attention to detail and an interest in working in HR.
• Applicants must possess a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics and two A levels (or equivalent qualification) in any subject at grade C or above.
