We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our clients busy team on a temporary basis, providing hands-on HR support and first-line advice to employees and line managers.
This is a varied, generalist HR role with a strong focus on employee relations. You will support managers with day-to-day people matters, helping them navigate HR processes confidently while ensuring policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers
- Provide practical advice on performance, attendance, absence, capability and conduct matters
- Support managers through investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to procedures
- Advise on probation reviews and extensions, including appropriate documentation and next steps
- Coordinate Occupational Health referrals and support long-term sickness, return-to-work cases and workplace adjustments
- Provide HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes and leavers
- Manage Right to Work checks, DBS-related queries and associated compliance requirements
- Support managers with employee relations matters, escalating complex or sensitive cases where appropriate
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Provide a responsive, professional and solutions-focused HR service in a fast-paced environment
About You
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role
- Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Confident advising and supporting managers on day-to-day employee relations matters
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships at all levels
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing employee records, case documentation and compliance
- CIPD qualified or equivalent practical HR experience would be advantageous
