Summary: The HR Advisor role is a temporary position based on the Isle of Wight, requiring an experienced HR professional to support a busy HR team for an initial 3-month contract. The position involves a mix of on-site and remote work, focusing on delivering comprehensive HR services, including employee relations casework and advising managers on HR policies. The ideal candidate will have a solid generalist HR background and experience in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employer relations case work - grievance, disciplinary, performance, capability, sickness, absence, dismissal.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of HR policy, process and best practice.
- Coaching managers on ER and HR matters.
- Supporting other activities which could include policy, recruitment, training.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on approach with a solid HR generalist and ER background, ideally with experience of complex environments, eg with unions.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Recent generalist HR experience, encompassing a wide array of HR tasks including policy development, implementation, and ER casework.

HR Advisor opportunity to work for a busy team on the Isle of Wight for an initial 3-month contract
We have an opportunity for an HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor to work for a busy HR team on the Isle of Wight for an initial 3-month temporary contract via Hays. 3 days per week on site in Newport, Isle of Wight and 2 from home and they will consider support costs of ferry travel to IOW.
We are looking for an experienced HR Professional who has a broad generalist and ER background who will be working alongside a Head of HR in the delivery of a compressive HR service to managers and employees.
You will be undertaking a range of HR activities including:
- Employer relations case work - grievance, disciplinary, performance, capability, sickness, absence, dismissal.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of HR policy, process and best practice.
- Coaching managers on ER and HR matters.
- Supporting other activities which could include policy, recruitment, training

The Offer
We are looking to engage on an initial temporary contract via Hays for an initial 3-month basis.
5 days per week - 3 days on site in Newport, Isle of Wight and 2 from home. But if you can be on site preferred, but open to discuss.
