Summary: The HR Advisor role is a fixed-term contract based in Derby, focusing on providing generalist HR support within a busy operational environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for operational employees, resolving day-to-day HR queries such as pay issues, system access, holiday approvals, and general employment questions.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Manage and support ER cases including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, and performance matters.
- Ensure accurate and timely HR administration, including documentation, reporting, and maintaining employee records.
- Support HR processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, probation, absence management, etc.).
- Build strong working relationships with operational teams, promoting a positive and visible HR presence onsite.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experience.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor role, ideally within an industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or similar operational environment.
- Confident handling day-to-day HR queries and providing practical, solution-focused support.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing ER cases from start to finish.
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, people-centric environment.
- Approachable, resilient, and able to build trust quickly with colleagues at all levels.
