Summary: The HR Advisor role at Orbit involves providing comprehensive support and advice on employment matters to line managers and colleagues, focusing on issues such as sickness absence and disciplinary actions. This position is part of a small team and requires engagement with stakeholders at various levels, including senior leadership. The role is primarily based in Coventry with hybrid working arrangements and occasional travel to other sites. It is a 12-month fixed-term contract aimed at enhancing employee relations within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on casework, providing guidance for line managers, ensuring policies are followed, documents are issued and outcomes are recorded.
- Support the development of HR policies, manager guides, workflows and checklists to ensure consistent advice is provided which complies with legislative changes.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers and key stakeholders across the business.
- Support the business during the implementation of change programmes, including restructures and TUPE, undertaking consultations and preparing necessary documentation.
- Act as note-taking support within formal Employee Relations meetings.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in managing complex Employee Relations cases, from start to resolution.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards, or equivalent experience.
- Good working knowledge of current employment legislation and its application in the workplace.
- Strong customer service focus with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to advise, influence and coach managers confidently on Employee Relations issues.
- Experience of operating within a HR shared services environment (desirable).
