Summary: The Housing Support Worker role in Colchester involves providing essential support to vulnerable individuals to help them maintain their tenancies and achieve greater independence. The position requires delivering personalized housing-related support across multiple properties while managing a caseload of service users. The ideal candidate will have experience in housing support and a strong understanding of housing management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centred housing-related support and tenancy management across 3–4 properties.
- Develop and implement personalized Support and Safety Plans.
- Provide a minimum of two hours weekly 1-1 support per service user.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using internal systems.
- Identify and report anti-social behaviour and ensure property standards are upheld.
- Work in partnership with external agencies including The Probation Service.
- Support service users with life skills and practical domestic tasks.
- Maximize rent collection and ensure benefit claims are managed effectively.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role supporting vulnerable adults in a housing or supported living setting.
- Experience managing a caseload and developing support plans.
- Strong understanding of housing management and benefits processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with external partners and agencies.
- Confident in lone working and using own initiative.
- Holds a valid driving licence, has access to a vehicle, and valid business insurance.
