Summary: The role of Housing Options Advisor involves triaging and managing casework related to homelessness for a local authority, aiming to reduce application backlogs and waiting times. The role is full-time, requiring office presence four days a week in Corby and Kettering. Immediate start is available on a rolling three-month basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out triage and casework for homeless cases.
  • Make decisions on homeless applications to reduce backlogs.
  • Provide support and advice to customers threatened with homelessness.
  • Produce clear and concise statutory decision letters.
  • Manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
  • Work as part of the Triage Team within Housing Options.
  • Handle daily approaches from homeless individuals.
  • Utilize the Jigsaw system for case management.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Experience in housing advice and casework.
  • Strong negotiation skills with various stakeholders.

Salary (Rate): £22.68 per hour

Working on behalf of a local authority, we are looking for Housing Options Advisors. Recruitment of Housing Options Advisors to carry out the function of triage and casework making decisions on homeless cases to reduce backlogs and waiting times for applications to be assessed through triage. To commence ASAP on a three monthly rolling basis. Full time, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday paying 22.68 per hour PAYE which is equivalent to 30 per hour umbrella. Staff to be recruited to work in the office 4 days per week in Corby and Kettering office. Applicants should have the following experience: in-depth knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996. Experience in housing advice, casework, and negotiations with various stakeholders. Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear and concise statutory decision letters. Capability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently. To work as a Triage officer with the Triage Team which is part of Housing Options. Daily tasks will be dealing with homeless on the day approaches, managing your caseload of homeless or customers threatened with homelessness providing support and advice.
