Summary: The role of Housing Litigation Lawyer involves providing in-house legal services focused on housing management and tenancy enforcement for a Social Housing provider in Birmingham. This locum position is full-time for an initial 3-month period, with the possibility of extension, and requires immediate availability. The successful candidate will handle complex cases, represent clients in court, and provide training to staff on legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a quality in-house service focused on housing management and tenancy enforcement matters, particularly involving anti-social behaviour and disrepair.
- Handling end-to-end case management of complex anti-social behaviour and tenancy management matters, defending and progressing claims and applications to their conclusion.
- Attending and representing the client at court hearings, conducting own advocacy and preparing all documents and papers required.
- Preparing notices, pleadings, and witness statements as required.
- Providing training to staff across the business regarding legal and housing management issues.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer.
- PQE experience within housing law or civil litigation.
- Ability to handle complex legal cases and represent clients in court.
- Strong advocacy and document preparation skills.
- Experience in providing training on legal matters.

We are currently partnering with a Social Housing provider based in Birmingham, who are recruiting for a Housing Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 3-months, with potential for extension. This is a full-time position, offering an hourly rate thats negotiable based on candidate expectations and experience, and they're looking for someone to get started as soon as possible.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing a quality in-house service, primarily focused on housing management and tenancy enforcement matters particularly those involving anti-social behaviour and disrepair
- Handling end to end case management of complex anti-social behaviour and tenancy management matters, defending and progressing claims and applications to their conclusion

Experience Required:
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer
- PQE experience within housing law or civil litigation
Working Hours: 35 hours per week Monday – Friday
