Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality legal advice and representation on housing law matters.
- Preparing, issuing, and managing legal proceedings including injunctions, possession proceedings, closure orders, and committal applications.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as witness statements, claim forms, court bundles, and consent orders.
- Representing the council in court and tribunals.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Housing Management & Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB).
- Experience in conducting own advocacy.
- Recent experience in housing law.

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the West Midlands , who are looking to appoint a Housing Lawyer to join the team on a locum basis for an initial 3 months , with potential for extension. The role offers home working, with regular Court attendance required in the West Midlands . The hourly rate for the role is £45 - £50 p/hour UMB. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Providing high-quality legal advice and representation to the local authority on housing law matters, with a particular focus on anti-social behaviour and related injunction proceedings Preparing, issuing, and managing legal proceedings including, but not limited to: Injunctions under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Possession proceedings (e.g. Ground 7A/14), Closure orders, Committal applications for breach of injunctions Drafting and reviewing legal documents including witness statements, claim forms, court bundles, and consent orders Representing the council in court and tribunals Experience required: Conducting own advocacy Strong knowledge of Housing Management & ASB Working hours: 35 hours per week Monday – Friday Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
