Summary: The Homelessness Reviews and Quality Assurance Officer will support the Housing Operations Manager by focusing on homelessness and housing advice services. This hybrid role requires maintaining legal knowledge, managing performance, and providing guidance on allocations and homelessness issues. The officer will also contribute to partnership work and ensure compliance with performance indicators while safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain specialist knowledge on legal, policy, and best practice developments in homelessness and housing advice.
  • Draft replies to MP enquiries and complaints related to the Housing Operations Service.
  • Undertake the S202 Homelessness Review Officer role and ensure compliance with statutory duties.
  • Support Team Managers in managing team performance and conducting quality reviews.
  • Provide specialist advice to senior managers and colleagues on housing issues.
  • Support the management of temporary accommodation to reduce reliance on Bed & Breakfast facilities.
  • Safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults using the Council's services.
  • Contribute to partnership work with key agencies to enhance prevention services.
  • Ensure adherence to BVPIs, KPIs, and local performance indicators.
