Summary: The Homeless Prevention Coordinator at Salford Foundation is responsible for providing support and advocacy to vulnerable men at risk of homelessness. This role involves delivering crisis support, coaching, and workshops to empower beneficiaries in developing essential life skills. The Coordinator will also collaborate with volunteers and other agencies to create a comprehensive support system tailored to individual needs. This position is maternity cover and focuses on engaging men aged 18 and above, including those in temporary and social housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide triage assessment, needs & risk assessment, action and support plans to meet men’s needs and prevent homelessness.
- Deliver one-to-one coaching, mentoring, advocacy, support, and signposting to help men overcome barriers.
- Implement a trauma-responsive and strengths-based approach to build confidence and resilience.
- Track individual progress towards agreed outputs and outcomes using appropriate tools and systems.
- Design and deliver engagement activities and workshops based on key themes and needs.
- Develop and manage referral pathways and protocols with internal and external agencies.
- Recruit and engage eligible men from the target group and promote success stories on social media.
- Engage in multi-agency partnership work to coordinate holistic support.
- Establish systems for consultation and feedback from beneficiaries and partners.
- Record accurate monitoring information in compliance with GDPR and reporting requirements.
- Implement and comply with all Salford Foundation’s policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties reasonably required by the Senior Management Team.
Key Skills:
- Understanding of the needs and challenges facing men who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Knowledge of statutory and VCSE support services available in Greater Manchester.
- Robust understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk management.
- Experience working with vulnerable and socially excluded men with complex needs.
- Experience delivering face-to-face and one-to-one support to adults.
- Experience designing and delivering group-based engagement activities and workshops.
- Experience in multi-agency partnership working and safeguarding.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and organize workload and work remotely.
- Proficiency in ICT packages, including Microsoft Office & Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to work as part of a team and develop partnerships with agencies.
- Ability to work to targets and report on performance.
