Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a multi-million-pound highways construction project.
  • Manage project scope, programme, budget and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance against agreed milestones, budgets and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, industry standards and project requirements.
  • Manage project governance, reporting and stakeholder communications.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues to minimise impact on delivery.
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications.
  • Support decision-making through accurate project reporting and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure project objectives are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience delivering highways construction projects as a Project Manager.
  • Experience managing large-scale construction schemes with responsibility for programme, budget and delivery.
  • Knowledge of highways construction methodologies, standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants and key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of project governance, risk management and reporting processes.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Highway structures experience is desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver against project deadlines.

Project Manager – Highways Construction We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major highway’s construction scheme. This role will be responsible for managing a multi-million-pound project from delivery through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. Experience in highway construction is essential, with highway structures experience preferred. Rate: £500 per day Region: Southeast England Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office Contract Length: Up to 6 months If you have experience delivering major highways construction projects and are available for an interim contract, we would like to hear from you.
