Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist speech, language and social communication assessments within the ASD diagnostic pathway
  • Administer, score and interpret ADOS-2 and ADI-R
  • Contribute to detailed developmental history taking and diagnostic formulation
  • Undertake complex differential diagnosis where autism overlaps with ADHD, DLD and mental health presentations
  • Produce high-quality, comprehensive diagnostic reports suitable for clinical and statutory processes
  • Provide strengths-based, neuroaffirmative feedback to families
  • Support the development and implementation of assessment pathways, triage systems and governance frameworks

Key Skills:

  • HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist
  • Significant post-qualification experience in neurodevelopmental assessment
  • ADOS-2 trained
  • ADI-R trained with demonstrable experience administering and interpreting assessments independently
  • Experience contributing to multidisciplinary autism diagnostic decision-making
  • Excellent formulation, analytical and report-writing skills
  • A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach suited to a developing service

We are establishing a new ADHD & Autism Diagnostic Service and are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Speech & Language Therapist to play a central role in delivering high-quality autism assessments and supporting the development of the service from inception.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical expertise with meaningful service development within a growing multidisciplinary team.

The Role

You will:

  • Deliver specialist speech, language and social communication assessments within the ASD diagnostic pathway
