Summary: Endeavour Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (HV/Protection) for an 8-month contract with a leading nuclear client in Plymouth or Bristol. The role requires Security Clearance and involves hybrid working, with 2-3 days on-site each week. The position focuses on leading HV electrical design packages and overseeing junior engineers while ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead HV electrical design packages to meet scope, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Prepare, review, and verify technical documents, including designs, analyses, and specifications.
  • Oversee technical outputs from junior engineers and support their development.
  • Engage in technical problem solving and development of new design solutions.
  • Support design sentencing, temporary works, and design compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate closely with multi-discipline engineering teams and construction stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment with safety requirements and engineering management plans.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience in designing HV/LV power distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection, and monitoring systems.
  • Familiar with control & instrumentation systems and communications infrastructure.
  • Experience substantiating SIL and high-integrity systems for nuclear safety functions.
  • Deep understanding of engineering governance, safety, and quality processes.
  • Competence in planning and delivering complex engineering work packages.
  • Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
  • Chartered Engineer (or working toward chartership).
  • Experience in nuclear/marine systems preferred.

Salary (Rate): £65.00
