Summary: The role of High Level Clearance Cisco SME / Senior Network Engineer involves leading the design, deployment, and management of complex Cisco-based network infrastructures. The position requires deep technical expertise in Cisco technologies and collaboration with various teams to ensure secure network solutions. Candidates must hold or have held high-level security clearance, with a focus on troubleshooting and mentoring within the organization. This is a long-term contract with expected extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of Cisco-based network solutions (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-level network issues
- Provide expert input on infrastructure projects and proposals
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure robust and secure network designs
- Maintain detailed technical documentation
- Offer mentoring and knowledge transfer to internal teams
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls
- Deep understanding of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS
- Experience with Cisco ISE, ASA, Meraki, and Nexus platforms
- Solid understanding of network security best practices
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
- Cisco certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE) preferred
- Experience working in enterprise or government environments is a plus
