Summary: The High Hazard Engineer role at BAE Systems involves providing expertise in safety, health, and environmental (SHE) compliance, particularly regarding COMAH and explosives regulations. The position requires advising senior management and staff on high hazard and process safety matters. The role is based in Glascoed and entails a commitment to on-site work three days a week over a 12-month duration. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert in compliance with COMAH and explosives regulations.
- Support and advise on future projects related to safety and compliance.
- Provide advice and assistance to senior managers and staff regarding SHE Policy responsibilities.
- Focus on high hazard, process safety, explosive safety, and COMAH compliance.
Key Skills:
- Experience in a high hazard industry, preferably at an Upper Tier COMAH site.
- Theoretical and practical expertise in explosive risk management and licensing.
- Knowledge and experience related to COMAH regulations.
- Ability to deliver high-quality SHE training.

Key Responsibilities :
- Being involved in every aspect of SHE, in particular act as a subject matter expert in respect of compliance with the COMAH and explosives Regulations.
- Support and advise on future projects.
- Provide advice and assistance to senior managers and staff that will enable them to discharge their responsibilities under the SHE Policy in respect of High Hazard, process safety, Explosive safety and COMAH.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Have experience of working in a High Hazard Industry, preferably at an Upper Tier COMAH site
- Demonstrate theoretical and practical expertise in explosive risk management and explosive licensing
- Demonstrate theoretical and practical expertise in respect of COMAH
- Demonstrate the knowledge and experience to deliver high quality SHE training
